Policy on Sustainable Tourism

the Waters is located in the private grounds of Windhover Estate, with olive groves, vineyards, forest plantings and a protected shoreline. Our grounds & surroundings are known for their biodiversity. From the first day we opened in 2011, we have been careful to respect the fragility of the natural environment where we live and work.

We carry out practices that encourage sustainability of the natural environment. We prefer the use of local produce and we respect the seasons. We encourage local farmers to grow and raise produce for us, and we buy local whenever possible.
We actively support the rich artisan community of the Nelson region, and provide links and recommendations for notable artists and craftspeople where we can.
We actively encourage a sustainable tourism development with a small footprint on the land.

Infant and Child Policy

To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all our guests, we have set certain policies with regards to infants and children. In general we suggest that the Waters is not suitable for children under 8. However, you are very welcome to contact us with your booking enquiry, as if you choose to stay during a quiet period, we may be able to accommodate your requirements.
